If you’re a sports fan, you’ll want to experience the atmosphere and witness the build-up prior to big events, and there are plenty of places to do just that in Hong Kong. In Causeway Bay, Hong Kong’s football supporters’ club members congregate to watch premier league games at bars, which set the scene with framed sport jerseys and pics of sports stars in action.
Over in Wanchai, there are Brit-style pubs for sports lovers showing football, rugby and motorsports on giant screens where you can follow the action. There are several good Irish pubs in Hong Kong to serve draught beers and offer screens with European football and American sports: you’ll find them in Wan Chai, Tsim Sha Tsui and Cyberport among other locations.
Hallowe’en is a big deal in Hong Kong, and many dress up in frightful costumes and go bar hopping around Lan Kwai Fong, which hosts an annual street party. Many bars, hotels and restaurants all over the city also embrace the Hallowe’en themed menus and spooky cocktails. Families can celebrate at Disneyland and Ocean Park, where “spooktacular” performances and haunted attractions await.
