Hit The Promenade

There are many promenades in Hong Kong where you can go for a stroll or simply relax and enjoy the beauty of Victoria Harbour. These pet-friendly places are also popular with joggers and cyclists, who appreciate the smooth, flat, tree-lined paths and the chance to exercise alongside the water.

One of the most impressive is the West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade, which is decorated with calligraphy pillars. Featuring an open lawn area that's perfect for a picnic, this is a popular place to watch the sunset. The adjacent Art Park hosts regular alfresco performances, which is another reason to check it out.

Stretching from Shek Tong Tsui to Sheung Wan, the Central and Western District Promenade boasts a wide, paved walkway, play areas for kids and great views of the Kowloon skyline. Offering stellar vistas of the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal and featuring a wooden boardwalk that hosts markets and events during the weekends, the Kwun Tong Promenade is also worth visiting.

If you have pets, you'll love Quarry Bay Promenade, as there is a large pet garden where dogs can roam off the lead. In this area you'll also find a decommissioned fireboat, the Alexander Grantham, with onboard multimedia exhibits on marine rescue work in Hong Kong.
