**DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING

Assistant Officer (two posts)** (Ref. 230601009-IE)

Duties

The appointees will be required to:

(a) provide administrative support to academic programmes and research programmes;

(b) support a wide range of activities of the Unit, including administration of student-related matters (e.g. admission, registration, examination and student record), Work-Integrated Education (WIE) programme and matters relating to student projects;

(c) support programme leaders in daily operations of academic programmes;

(d) provide secretarial support to meetings and committees;

(e) compile statistical reports and maintain database;

(f) assist in organizing activities and events; and

(g) perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit or his delegates.

The appointees may be required to work outside office hours.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

(a) a recognised degree or an equivalent qualification;

(b) at least two years of relevant post-qualification experience;

(c) a good command of both English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua being an advantage;

(d) proficiency in computer software applications including MS office and Chinese word processing;

(e) good communication, interpersonal and time management skills; and

(f) self-motivation and the ability to work independently and proactively.

Preference will be given to those with experience in tertiary institutions/similar organizations.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
