Job description

The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) was incorporated under the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers Ordinance, Chapter 1105 of the Laws of Hong Kong in 1975. The Institution sets standards for the training and admission of engineers and has strict rules governing its members’ conduct. As a learned society, it regularly organises activities to keep members abreast of the latest engineering developments and for the purpose of continuing professional development. Duties:

• To assist and deputise the Chief Executive and Secretary in undertaking the administration of the HKIE Secretariat
• To oversee the work for guarding professional standards; promoting membership and pursuing training and development
• To pursue digitalisation for the purpose of improving efficiency and effectiveness of the Secretariat’s function
• To steer the learned society activities and events
• To boost the efforts for enhancing the visibility of engineer in society
• To render all necessary support to the Council and the Executive in the proper conduct of the institutional business

Requirements:

• Recognized University Degree holder at Bachelor or above level
• At least 15 years of relevant working experience with10 years at senior managerial level
• Proven track record in leading high performing team in consensus building, governance practices, quality assurance and system implementation
• Able to build and maintain relationship at executive level and with stakeholders
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, organization, multi-tasking and management skills
• Excellent command of written & spoken English and Chinese with proficiency in Putonghua
• Engineering knowledge highly desirable but not essential
