Job description

The Sec & Derivatives Sr Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for processing orders and transactions originating from trading desks and branch offices in coordination with the Operations - Transaction Services team. The overall objective of this role is to facilitate the clearance, settlement and investigation of client securities and derivatives transactions.

Responsibilities:

  • Resolve complex process problems which require an in-depth evaluation of basic securities processing procedures and industry standards
  • Process various hedge fund tasks, including calculating net asset value, reconciling cash and holdings, and pricing securities
  • Offer advanced solutions for assigned securities processing areas
  • Provide guidance and assistance to junior staff
  • Oversee the set-up of new hedge funds, while representing a securities processing team, and acting as the analytical and procedural expert
  • Serve as analytical or procedural expert for securities processing deliverables/initiatives
  • Prepare expense budgets, analyze expense calculations, and prepare unaudited financial statements
  • Ascertain fund value and allocate values to each investor
  • Assist with the development of new techniques and streamlining hedge fund/securities processing activities
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications: - 5-8 years of relevant experience

  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills

Education: - Bachelor's Degree/University degree or equivalent experience

Key Responsibilities:

Control: - Work together with the in-business control to oversee the control functions of Custody Operations includes the services under various Citi Securities Services Operations Hubs

  • Conduct regular reviews of operational processes to identify areas of risk and implement appropriate controls
  • Develop and implement control procedure related to governance and control
  • Monitor and report on key control metrics to seniors management
  • Coordinate to run corporate risk program, such as Manager Control Assessment and other related exercises

Projects: - Work together with Custody Tech and relevant stakeholders on those projects related to Custody Operations includes process improvement, market change , system enhancement, control projects etc..

  • Manage the projects end to end to ensure that projects are completed in a timely manner and successful project delivery
  • Provide regular updates on project status to senior management

Administration: - Assist the HK Custody Ops Head to manage budget, staffing and any administrative work related to HK Custody Operations

  • Prepare regular management report on departmental governance

Skills

The ideal candidate should have: - Experience in operations managements, including monitoring and controlling operational processes, able to identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions to improve efficiency and productivity.

  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to prepare and deliver effective presentations to both internal and external stakeholders. They should be able to distill complex information into clear and concise messages, and be comfortable presenting to groups of varying sizes and levels of seniority.

  • A team player, able to work effectively with colleagues across different departments and levels of seniority and able to build and maintain strong working relationships, and be comfortable collaborating on projects and initiatives.

  • Can work independently and strong problem solving skills including the ability to identify issues, analyze root causes, and develop and implement solutions.

  • Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and be able to adjust their approach as needed to meet the need of the organization.

  • Adaptable and flexible, able to handle changing priorities and workloads.
