We are looking for a Director of Engineering based at Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong!

As a Director of Engineering, we rely on you to:

• Responsible for supervising Engineering team to ensure day to day operations with particular attention towards safety, security and asset protection
• Manage the operation, maintenance, upgrade and installation of all building systems including but not limited to Electrical, Air Conditioning & Ventilation, Sanitary Systems, Plumbing Systems in alignment with the related policies of fire, life and safety
• Lead and manage a team of technicians and handymen to ensure daily operation matters are handled on time and that guest expectations are met
• Provide technical solution and troubleshooting analysis to improve performance and reliability of products
• Conduct regular walk through in the property to anticipate and to rectify any engineering related issues
• Monitor and ensure the quality of performance and workmanship of both outsourced and in-house repair and maintenance works
• Accountable for managing the budget, capital expenditure, projects, preventative maintenance and energy conservation
• Lead the emergency response team for all hotel’s facilities issues
• Ensures building and equipment licenses, permits and certifications are current
• Follow the required Engineering audits
• Carry out any other duties and responsibilities as assigned

We are looking for someone who has:

• Degree in Building Services or Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline; preferably Chartered Engineer
• Proven background and experience as Director of Engineering (Head of Engineering) of large scale (500 keys + with multiple outlets and function spaces) luxury hotel
• Preferably with experience of high-rise building environment and multi-purpose complex (mixed-use commercial, mall, office) and hands-on in managing various projects in related to renovation
• Proven ability to manage various stakeholders
• Proficient in both written and spoken English & Chinese with excellent communication skills
