Job Posting Details The External and Alumni Relations Team of the HKUST Business School (the School) is recruiting a Marketing Officer to assist in producing branding/marketing materials and maintaining a strong online presence for the School. The appointee’s role is to implement branding/marketing strategies through the School’s publicity channels, including our social media platforms. As a Marketing Officer, the appointee will develop original contents and suggest creative ways to promote the developments/achievements of the School, enhancing brand awareness and stakeholder engagement. We expect the appointee to be well-versed in the latest digital marketing technologies and social media trends so as to leverage the newest tools and technologies. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written and design test. Major Responsibilities:
- creating engaging text/image/video contents and layouts;
- designing and producing social media posts to sustain stakeholders’ engagement;
- editing photos and videos;
- developing publicity calendar and social media posting schedule, considering web traffic and stakeholder engagement metrics;
- reporting on and responding to online queries in a timely manner;
- monitoring the traffic of the School’s publicity channels, including social media platforms;
- researching current technologies, trends and audience preferences in social media platforms ensuring maximum effectiveness;
- suggesting new strategies to enhance brand awareness and attract prospective social media followers, like promotions and contests;
- liaising with external writers/designers/vendors on marketing/branding initiatives; and
- performing ad-hoc duties as assigned such as supporting University-wide and School-based events and activities.
Applicants should have a degree in Design, Marketing, Linguistics, New Media or relevant fields with at least 3 years of relevant work experience in content creation, marketing or branding. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in multiple social media platforms, knowledge of SEO and Google Analytics, up-to-date knowledge with the latest digital marketing technologies and social media trends and the ability to develop creative content, including text, images and videos. The appointee should possess excellent communication, multi-tasking and analytical skills with a proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese, Microsoft Office applications, graphic design software and photo/video editing tools. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written and design test. (Duration: 2 years, renewable) (Applicants who have applied earlier to the same position need not re-apply.) Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of the contract.
