Commercial Banking – Partnership & Innovation

Hang Seng’s Commercial Banking (CMB) business provides customized one-stop financial solutions to our corporate customers, from prime small and medium-sized businesses to publicly listed companies.

For customers conducting business locally or around the world, we offer a comprehensive range of services including corporate lending, trade and receivables finance, structured loan, cash management, investment, treasury services, insurance and e-Banking services. As a reliable financial partner, we attend to the specific business needs of our customers and provide efficient tailor-made banking solutions through our relationship managers and dedicated specialists.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Vice President, Partnership & Innovation

Principal responsibilities

  • Identify and innovate new business cases, including but not limited to data-led partnership, adoption of fintech.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to drive commercial banking customer growth and lending businesses.
  • Assess market feasibility, regulatory implications, and strategic fit of proposed initiatives.
  • Lead the delivery of business cases from concept through execution—including partner identification, product design, client acquisition, onboarding, credit assessment, and post-credit monitoring.
  • Ensure initiatives have clear business KPIs such as revenue growth, cost optimization, increased product adoption, or improved customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on emerging technologies, market trends, and regulator-driven initiatives (e.g., CDI, IADS).
  • Leverage market insights to recommend digital and data-driven solutions for competitive advantage.
  • Identify the right tech partners for business with next gen tech solutions exploration.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in the banking sector, with an in-depth understanding of commercial banking business models, operations, products, and services.
  • Strong track record of delivering measurable business growth or transformation projects involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of banking regulatory frameworks and experience in regulator-led innovations.
  • Existing network and relationship-building skills with external partners, fintechs, and industry stakeholders.
  • Experience in frontline customer engagement is a strong advantage.
  • Strong awareness of emerging market trends, technologies, and digital transformation strategies.
  • Excellent written and spoken English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
  • Professional qualifications such as Enhanced Competency Framework (ECF) and/or Certified Banker (CB) under Hong Kong Institute of Bankers (HKIB) would be an advantage.
