Data & Analytics Office
In Hang Sang Data and Analytics Office, we enable transformation into a data-driven Bank. We execute Data Governance, Data Management, Data Analytics, Data Partnership, and Data Literacy to generate business values from data.
We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our department as Data Manager.

Principal responsibilities - The role will be supporting the department to drive data strategy to ensure

• data are managed and controlled
• data becomes a key asset to the bank
• the bank moves to a data driven organization

• regulatory demands on data are satisfied

  The role is responsible to prepare regulatory reports, review and govern data project initiatives to ensure those comply with internal data policies and external regulations; in addition, the role has to work closely with project managers, data control teams, Business teams, Risk and Finance teams to ensure the governance process is being followed properly. He/she also needs to support and oversee data management activities of Business, Risk and Finance teams.
  What you'll do: - Responsible for timely and accurate production, quality control and submission of report(s) to the Regulator.

• Periodic reviews of reporting and data controls on both existing and new reports by collaborating with the Report Owner and Risk Steward (second line of defense).
• Respond to queries and comments raised by Regulator regarding report production, report submission and regulatory requirement.
• Manage regulatory data programme, include defining data programme strategy, tracking the programme status, overseeing the activities of data process owners, liaison with stakeholders, and supporting regulator engagement.
• Support and handle data control activities, include data governance management, data control and quality review, data and process identification.

• Provide update and escalation to Governance Forum.

  Requirements- Background in portfolio reporting, data governance, data management, data control, regulatory engagement.

• 2-3 years in portfolio reporting, data management, business analysis, risk management.
• Have fair understanding of regulatory reporting, data governance and management principles.
• Attention to detail combined with a strong delivery focus and ability to meet aggressive timeframes with quality results.
• Awareness on regulatory requirement, data governance and management trends within the banking industry.
• Strong presentation skills: facilitate steering committee and good stakeholder management as the role will face across all different levels of management in the bank locally, regionally and globally, as well as regulator.
• Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese.
• Ability to interact and build relationship with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
• Able to work independently with less supervision.
• University degree in related disciplines.
