If you’re planning to come to Hong Kong after graduation, why not reconsider your plans and get a degree here first? The city offers some of the finest universities in the world, with English being the language of instruction across all fields of study save for literature studies.

Five out of 22 degree-awarding higher education institutions in Hong Kong have made it into Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings 2023 top 100: The University of Hong Kong, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, City University of Hong Kong, and Hong Kong Polytechnic University, with Hong Kong University ranked #21 among the world’s top academic institutions. After graduation, you can apply to stay in the city under the Immigration Arrangements for Non-local Graduates (IANG) scheme, and look for jobs without worrying about your visa status.

In a recent policy address, the Hong Kong government announced it has extended the limit of stay for graduates here as part of the IANG initiative from one to two years, which will benefit recent graduates staying in or coming to Hong Kong for work.
