Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee the design and construction process for the company and provide leadership and direction to the project and interior design teams on development of ID concepts for all areas of the property adhering to the brand design direction and quality
- Direct activities of Project teams and provide overall guidance and coordination to create and develop plans for hotels designs, renovation or retrofitting in order to create optimal layouts in keeping with brand design guidelines and available resources and budgets
- Manage and oversee the construction of the project and performance of all Works Contracts, consultants, contractors and sub-contractors
- Oversee, supervise and coordinate all 3rd party designers, architects and project managers on projects where in-house expertise is not available
- Determine the scope of work and develops budgets for construction and renovation projects, Solicit bids from external vendors and develops cost effective options/solutions. Negotiate contracts with vendors for final approval
- Collaborate with owners, joint venture partners and corporate personnel to ensure projects are completed on time and budget. Reviews and approves variation orders for revisions on budgets
- Ensure that all materials and project documentation required for government permits and approvals are prepared and submitted on time
- Develop and participate in establishing corporate brand standards, manuals, guidelines and project management activities to ensure that the brand direction is consistent. Provides guidance and training to the project team to attain a high level of proficiency
- Provide strategic input on development decisions including conducting feasibility studies, site inspections and due diligence reviews for new projects, conversions and renovations to determine scope, complexity and budgets
- Direct and assist all facets of Hotel annual property capital expenditure and renovation programs
- Work in close coordination with the Core Team to ensure the company operates to an international hotel company standard across all facets of its business
- Establish KPIs for senior leadership direct reports and consistently drive delivery of these KPI’s
- Prepare and do presentation to the potential investors
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or professional degree in Architecture, interior design, construction management or relevant disciplines
- Minimum 10 years' experience in Asia Pacific in managing projects associated with construction/design/architecture teams of which at least 5 years were at a senior level
- Strong technical skills and understanding of design and construction process
- Demonstrated track record in managing contractors, architects, designers and other disciplines associated with construction projects
- Conceptual thinking and appreciation of quality design, construction and finishes
- Strong leadership, presentation and good communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with other teams in the business
- Ability to lead a team and build strong relationships
- Familiarity with computer assisted design, drafting and project management software applications is required
- Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese
