We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the Facilities Management Office:
Facilities Manager (Building Services) (FMO) (Ref: 24001XW)
Major Duties and Responsibilities
The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:
- Providing professional recommendation and advice to facilitate management discussions and decision making.
- Coordinating with stakeholders and in-house specialists for special requirements and incorporate into the works.
- Monitoring project expenditures and progress by administering effective project and construction management techniques.
- Supervising the project timeline, budget, and quality control, while ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Reviewing technical proposals including calculations, drawings and reports and site works to ensure that the required quality and safety standards are maintained.
- Monitor and inspect the contractors’ technical work performance, design work, design calculations, and method statements.
- Monitor BIM model work progress of projects.
- Identify and resolve any BIM-related conflicts, risks or issues that may arise during the project lifecycle.
- Carry out detailed reviews of contractor shop drawings and material submittals against the tender documents and other project requirements.
- Review and comment on any method statements prepared by the contractor.
- Liaising with government authorities, consultants, contractors, and internal parties regarding the project's progress.
- Monitoring the progress of the works, maintaining comprehensive records, and preparing thorough progress reports.
- Ensuring smooth handover of completed works to stakeholders, follow up with all defects and outstanding items and review O&M manuals submitted by the contractor.
- Organise, attend meetings and prepare minutes and records, follow up action items.
- Performing any other duties assigned by supervisors.
Candidates
Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:
- A recognized degree in Electrical/ Mechanical/ Building Services or related discipline in construction industry.
- A minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience in design, site cocorindation and project management.
- A holder of a qualification such as MHKIE, RPE, or equivalent, with at least 6 years of relevant post-qualification experience.
- Experience in MiC, MiMEP design, and DfMA works coordination is an advantage.
- Holding a CCBC/CCBM or possessing other BIM professional qualifications is an advantage.
- Ability to lead and manage teams, consultants, and contractors while handling a complex and varied workload.
- Good presentation skills, self-motivation, and a team player with strong communication skills.
- Familiarity with building regulations and related statutory requirements.
- Good experience with tender preparation and assessment.
- Knowledge in handling AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks and Autodesk Construction Cloud. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong leadership and project management skills, coupled with interpersonal skills and a service-oriented mindset.
- Demonstrated track record in managing contractors, architects, designers and other disciplines associated with construction projects.
- Effective communication in both English and Chinese (preferably including Putonghua).
