Position Purpose
The main purpose of the role is to maintain, enhance and implement technical solutions within vendor and in-house applications to meet the requirements of investment management teams.
The Investment Systems Specialist position will work directly with Portfolio Managers, Dealers and Analysts to design, test, deploy and provide ongoing support of investment focussed applications and integrations between external systems. You will be engaged to work on various initiatives to leverage and enhance functional solutions across asset classes in market leading platforms.
The position’s primary responsibilities are within Australian region however will be required to work closely with global counterparts to ensure collaboration, leverage of solutions and alignment to both IT and business strategy.

Required Capabilities
Essential
Detailed understanding in Investments Services, preferably funds management.
7+ years’ experience of formal data and business analysis.
Proven prioritisation and problem solving skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to communicate effectively and confidently with users, team members and management.
Strong relationship management skills with the ability to liaise, influence and negotiate with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with staff at all levels to solve complex business problems.
Desirable
Strong understanding of the roles different participants play in the Investment Management business and their dependencies and interactions with one another.
Strong understanding of business processes and technology that support the Investment Management.
Domain knowledge across all asset classes including Equities, Fixed Income, and Derivatives.
Experience with market leading OMS platforms such as Charles River and Blackrock Aladdin.
Must be flexible and willing to undertake a wide variety of challenging tasks with competing timeframes.
Able to manage resources within a project team and act as a consultant to colleagues and users.
Possess initiative, a ‘can do’ attitude and be a self-starter
