IT Investment Systems BA - 60-70K * 12 + Bonus

Position Purpose

The main purpose of the role is to maintain, enhance and implement technical solutions within vendor and in-house applications to meet the requirements of investment management teams.

The Investment Systems Specialist position will work directly with Portfolio Managers, Dealers and Analysts to design, test, deploy and provide ongoing support of investment focussed applications and integrations between external systems. You will be engaged to work on various initiatives to leverage and enhance functional solutions across asset classes in market leading platforms.

The position’s primary responsibilities are within Australian region however will be required to work closely with global counterparts to ensure collaboration, leverage of solutions and alignment to both IT and business strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Recommend and implement changes to processes and systems across the Investments domain based on current and future customer needs, industry trends and new technologies.
• Oversee the management and execution of any enhancements made through these recommendations.
• Complete project work stream deliverables including quality control/sign off for area of accountability.
• Provide SME support to Strategic projects across Investments and Operations.
• Maintain and enhance subject matter knowledge of the Investments domain.
• Understand business strategy and ensure IT strategy alignment for the Investments domain.
• Implement key upgrade cycles of third party vendor applications.
• Act as primary liaison between business stakeholders and external third party providers to gather requirements for system change and enhancements.
• Manage relationships with vendors where required.
• Document workflows and results of business analysis.
• Provide input into detailed test plans, design and execute test scenarios and test scripts where required.
• Day to day management of change requests in relation to the project plans to meet agreed deadlines.

• Report progress to stakeholders showing progress against outstanding milestones, status, resource requirements, issues, risks and dependencies.

  Required Capabilities

Essential

• Detailed understanding in Investments Services, preferably funds management.

• 7+ years’ experience of formal data and business analysis.

• Proven prioritisation and problem solving skills.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to communicate effectively and confidently with users, team members and management.

• Strong relationship management skills with the ability to liaise, influence and negotiate with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.

• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with staff at all levels to solve complex business problems.

  Desirable

• Strong understanding of the roles different participants play in the Investment Management business and their dependencies and interactions with one another.

• Strong understanding of business processes and technology that support the Investment Management.

• Domain knowledge across all asset classes including Equities, Fixed Income, and Derivatives.

• Experience with market leading OMS platforms such as Charles River and Blackrock Aladdin.

• Must be flexible and willing to undertake a wide variety of challenging tasks with competing timeframes.

• Able to manage resources within a project team and act as a consultant to colleagues and users.

• Possess initiative, a ‘can do’ attitude and be a self-starter
