Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and manage the low latency network infrastructure to support high-frequency trading activities.
Optimize network performance and minimize latency to ensure fast and reliable trade execution.
Collaborate with traders, developers, and stakeholders to understand their network requirements and provide appropriate solutions.
Manage a team of network engineers, providing guidance, coaching, and performance evaluations.
Work with vendors to evaluate and select network equipment and technologies that meet the needs of the business.
Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement necessary changes or enhancements.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and security standards.
Stay up to date with the latest advancements in low-latency networking technologies and recommend improvements or upgrades as needed.
Provide technical expertise and support for network-related incidents and escalations.
Develop and maintain network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Extensive experience in managing low latency networks within the investment banking or financial services industry.
Strong knowledge of networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, UDP, multicast, and layer 2/3 switching.
Experience with network hardware, such as routers, switches, firewalls, and network monitoring tools.
Hands-on experience with low latency network optimization techniques and tools.
Proficiency in network performance monitoring and analysis.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with various stakeholders.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a high-frequency trading environment.
Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements related to low-latency networks is a plus.
