The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting senior management by evaluating investment opportunities. He/she will be conducting thorough research and financial analysis, assessing market potential, and supporting investment decision-making. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive research and due diligence on potential climate investment opportunities, including renewable energy projects, clean technologies, sustainable infrastructure, and other climate-related sectors
- Perform financial analysis, including modeling, valuation, and risk assessment, to evaluate the financial viability and potential returns of investment opportunities
- Analyze market trends, regulatory frameworks, and policy developments related to climate change and sustainable investing to identify emerging opportunities and risks
- Collaborate with the investment team to develop investment strategies and contribute to the formulation of investment theses
- Prepare investment memos, presentations, and reports summarizing research findings and investment recommendations for senior management and investment committee
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of existing climate investments, track key industry developments, and provide regular updates to stakeholders
- Build and maintain relationships with industry experts, advisors, and potential investees to stay informed about emerging opportunities and industry best practices
- Stay up to date on the latest trends and advancements in climate investing, sustainable finance, and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, environmental sciences, or a related field. Advanced degree (in Environmental Science or related field) is highly preferred
- Demonstrated passion for climate change mitigation and sustainable investing, with a strong understanding of environmental and social issues
- Experience in financial analysis, investment research, or related fields, preferably within the investment management, private equity, or venture capital industry
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information, perform financial modeling, and conduct risk assessments
- Strong written & verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings and recommendations in a clear and concise manner
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
