We’re seeking an experienced Underwriting Manager to own end-to-end underwriting and reinsurance operations— your work will directly drive profitable growth of our insurance products while keeping risk in check and supporting team success.
Job Responsibilities:
• Plan & Risk Management: Develop and review tailored underwriting plans, then manage risk exposure through delegated authority protocols and strategic reinsurance arrangements ensuring we balance growth with controlled risk.
• Product Underwriting: Assess, analyze, and underwrite Motor, Property & Casualty (P&C), and Accident & Health (A&H) insurance products—this includes deep dives into risk profiles to approve/price policies that hit profit targets and grow our product lines.
• Reinsurance & Operations Support: Provide hands-on technical support for reinsurance renewal system updates keeping tools accurate and efficient and handle all core underwriting work: routine policy underwriting, facultative inward cases, and treaty inward agreements.
• Documentation & Analysis: Prepare detailed reinsurance renewal data packs, review slip wording for accuracy, compare terms across options, and issue replacement reports to keep stakeholders aligned.
• Growth & Compliance: Lead regular credit control checks, track premium production against budget, and review exception reports to make sure all operations stick to compliance rules. Also, contribute to product development/upgrades, market research, and marketing tweaks to keep our offerings competitive.
• Relationships & Team: Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with clients to retain business and drive new opportunities. Support the department head to deliver top-tier customer service, streamline internal workflows for better efficiency, and identify team training gaps and coordinate personalized development plans for members.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Insurance (or related fields, e.g., ANZIIF Senior Associate/Fellow CIP).
• 10years or above in underwriting, reinsurance, and client servicing with 5 years in people/operations management).
• Strong interpersonal communication
• Proficient in MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint)
• Fluent in written/spoken English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
• Mature, proactive, and deeply result-driven.
