Senior Vice President - Data Governance

Job Summary:
Senior Vice President (SVP) of Data Governance is a key member of the Chief Data Office in the Information Technology Division. As the Enterprise Data Governance Lead, this is a critical role in managing and implementing our organisational data governance strategy, so as to achieve our vision in effectively applying data in serving the market and enhancing our capabilities。

Job Duties:

Key duties will span across various aspects of data governance (data quality and lineage, data model, data controls, data protection etc.) across the organisation。 The role ensures that our data assets are effectively and securely managed, and in alignment with industry best practices, regulatory and market expectations。

Key Responsibilities:- Formulating the strategy and supporting the implementation of data governance。

• Establishing a cross-functional Data Council at the management level to govern data-related policies, priorities and issues.
• Managing the execution of data initiatives by defining stanards and procedures, and enabling tooling in conjunction with data architecture and data engineering。
• Educating and enforcing policies through promoting data stewardship across the organisation。
• Collaborating with legal, compliance, risk management and cybersecurity functions on data compliance inclusive of controls, access and protection。
• Promoting awareness of value propositions through responsible reuse of data across the firm。

• Fostering accountability of data ownership and establishing procedures for data quality and lineage。

  Requirements: - Degree in technology, data or related disciplines and/or industry experiences in equivalent domains.

• At least 8 years of management level, with proven track record in leading enterprise-wide data governance initiatives.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements related to data risk including data protection and security.
• Excellent communication skills to engage project teams at all levels and strong stakeholder management capability with senior executives.
• Ability to balance strategic planning with pragmatic execution, through strong technical leadership and capabilities.
• Conversant with industry-wide data and technology market trends and best practices.

• Knowledge of risk and controls landscape, ensuring company-wide standards are met.
