Project Manager (Target Operating Model)

Our client is a well-established and leading bank in Hong Kong in the global finance industry with a diverse range of financial services and products.

The Role

As a Transformation Project Manager, you will need to have a strong background in target operating model design, project management, as well as experience in process improvement, people management, technology implementation, and governance.

Project Management: - Lead and manage transformation projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

• Develop comprehensive project plans, including defining project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria.
• Identify and allocate necessary resources, both internal and external, to support project execution.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.

• Foster effective communication and collaboration among project stakeholders, ensuring alignment and buy-in throughout the project lifecycle.

  Target Operating Model (TOM) Design: - Collaborate with stakeholders to define and design the target operating model for the organization.

• Conduct in-depth analysis of existing processes, systems, and structures to identify areas of improvement.
• Streamline processes, remove redundancies, and propose changes to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Facilitate workshops and working sessions to gather requirements and validate proposed changes.

• Develop implementation plans for the TOM, considering resource requirements, change management, and training needs.

  Process Improvement: - Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and bottlenecks within the organization's operations.

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze existing processes, gather data, and identify improvement opportunities.
• Develop and implement process improvement initiatives, ensuring alignment with the target operating model.
• Monitor the effectiveness of implemented changes and measure the impact on operational performance.

• Provide guidance and support to teams during the implementation of process improvements.

  Governance: - Establish and maintain effective governance frameworks to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

• Develop and implement reporting mechanisms to track project progress, risks, and issues.
• Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders on project status, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and proposed actions.
• Identify and address potential risks and issues, escalating them as necessary and implementing appropriate mitigation strategies.

• Collaborate with internal audit and compliance teams to ensure adherence to governance policies and procedures.

  Your Profile

  Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.

• Strong background in target operating model design, process improvement, and governance.
• Minimum 10+ years' experience in project management, preferably in transformation or change management projects within Banking.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and propose effective solutions.
• Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.

• Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) is desirable.
