Picnic Spots

With a plethora of parks and promenades, Hong Kong offers many great picnicking spots in and around the city whatever the occasion or the size of your group.

A short walk from Admiralty MTR station, Tamar Park offers plenty of flat, green lawn space where you can enjoy some sandwiches. Water features and landscaped gardens further add to its charm, as do the expansive views over Victoria Harbour. Pick up some supplies at the nearby shopping mall before laying your picnic blanket out on the extensive grassy area at Cyberport Waterfront Park, which offers views out towards Lamma from its Pok Fu Lam location.

Over at Jordan Valley Park in Kwun Tong, you can watch people race their cars at the radio-controlled model car circuit, explore the bougainvillea garden, and get lost in the maze before or after having a picnic on the central lawn. Another good picnic spot is Kwun Tong Promenade, which has a spacious amenity lawn where friends and families like to gather for picnics. Go for a stroll along the waterfront tree walk once you’ve finished.

With views out to Hong Kong Island, the West Kowloon Art Park boasts plenty of open space for picnicking. While you’re there, check out the latest exhibitions at M+, Hong Kong’s global museum of visual culture, which is a short stroll away.
