EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT CENTRE
Executive Officer (Ref. 250430002-IE)
The Hong Kong Polytechnic University is seeking a highly organised and motivated Executive Officer to join the Educational Development Centre. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficiency of daily office operations, supporting the delivery of educational programmes and fostering a collaborative working environment.
Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) manage daily office operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness, while developing and implementing administrative procedures and policies;
(b) assist in the planning, organising and execution of educational programmes and events, ensuring seamless delivery and high quality;
(c) serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, facilitating clear and professional communication;
(d) assist in budget preparation and financial reporting, monitoring expenditures and ensuring compliance with financial policies;
(e) manage administrative tasks, including scheduling meetings, maintaining records and handling correspondence;
(f) monitor and review the performance of embedded computer systems, troubleshooting issues, coordinating with IT support when necessary and ensuring systems to meet the Centre’s operational needs;
(g) mentor and guide junior staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, professional growth and team success; and
(h) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Educational Development or her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) a recognised degree with at least five years of relevant post-qualification experience;
(b) strong problem-solving and leadership skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently;
(c) excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
(d) an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, including fluency in Cantonese and Putonghua; and
(e) good computer literacy, including Chinese word processing.
Preference will be given to those with good computer literacy and experience in website maintenance.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
