PMQ has been revived into a creative hub since 2014, housing over 100 Hong Kong Designers, showcasing workshops and studios featuring lifestyle, fashion and accessories, architecture, furniture, gifts, housewares and a wide range of other designer goods. Today, PMQ has become the creative platform in supporting up and coming creative talent as well as fostering a community of patrons and lovers of creativity, design and heritage. We are now looking for some passionate and committed team members to work together for the better future of the Hong Kong creative industries.

Our Expectation and Your Responsibilities

  1. To oversee the project from planning, development to implementation stages, act as the main liaison among designers/ co-creators and key stakeholders in both Hong Kong and international.
  2. To curate, execute and coordinate events, exhibitions, conferences and other creative activities related to the international exhibition in overseas.
  3. Responsible for the overall creative, art direction and content development for the project, develop the project’s leading role for promoting and celebrating design excellence from Hong Kong and showcase our next generation of design talents in an international light.
  4. Responsible for the overall designers/ co-creators relationship and ensure the quality of creation are in good quality.
  5. Leading the project team to work closely with designers, government partners, supporting organisations, event planners and different production teams for a well thought planning and smooth execution of concerned events and programmes in overseas.
  6. Working closely with the PR and Social Media firms, overseas media, to roll out the strategic PR & marketing initiatives. The Project Director (Cum Curator) will also work with overseas coordinator and event management to work out the run-down for the exhibition in overseas.
  7. To ensure timely planning, preparation and implementation of activities to achieve the respective goals within the given schedule and resources.
  8. Irregular working hours and business travel are required.

Experiences & Qualities

  1. Over 15 years of working experience, in which having at least 5 years at the managerial level, in exhibition curation, planning and execution of events and exhibitions. Past working experience in the design industry.
  2. Self-motivated as both a team leader and team player in a small but passionate and energetic team.
  3. Good communication skills and be able to establish good relationship with different stakeholders. Be open-minded, flexible and sensible in dealing with different people with diversified backgrounds and cultures.
  4. Resourceful network of vendors, contractors and production houses; and ideally having good connection with local and overseas designers/ partners.
  5. Passionate in design, arts & culture.
  6. Proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua).
