Description

Reporting globally, The Managing Director will be responsible for the overall direction and management of the business with full P&L and balance sheet accountability as well as responsibility for all regional initiatives and teams.

The Managing Director is directly responsible for ensuring all functions collaborate effectively to delivery on the Global and Vision and Strategy through effective leadership and coaching. He/she must be able to operate independently with minimal day to day direct supervision.

Responsible for:

  • Translating the global strategy into a local execution plan
  • Planning, controlling and directing activities
  • Preparing and managing budget and forecast for business unit operating expenses and revenue
  • Establishing and monitoring annual business objectives and KPI's
  • Stimulating cooperation between all matrix business functions
  • Establishing and maintaining industry visibility by building and maintaining good relationships with key organisations and stakeholders in the market
  • Ensuring all statutory and company reporting requirements to internal and external organisations
  • Participating in international meetings and projects as required
  • Utilising continuous improvement techniques to improve efficiency and optimise costs
  • Building, developing and managing a local and regional operational management team capable of executing on the vision and strategy
  • Focusing on creating a positive work environment which fosters collaboration, workplace activity and engagement
  • Demonstrates a strong focus on talent development - encourages colleagues to set goals and seek opportunities for progression
  • Able to support an environment where colleagues taking individual accountability for their own personal development is encouraged, rewarded and recognised
  • Set clear objectives, monitor progress, take corrective action and control performance levels
  • Bring a sense of urgency to situations, demonstrate an active approach, be willing to get involved in order to increase the pace and achieve goals and objectives

Profile

The ideal candidate:

  • A dynamic and passionate business professional who inspires and leads from the front
  • Consumer goods industry experience is a must; Preferably an affinity with the lifestyle and wellness sector
  • Outstanding relationship management skills across a diverse set of customers
  • 20+ years of total experience and at least 5 years overall business experience in a senior leadership role, preferably in general management within the SEA, North Asia or APAC region
  • Hands-on experience working with distribution partners and direct sales
  • Educated to a minimum of Bachelor's degree level or equivalent, with a strong background in business administration and/or sales/marketing, preferably with an international background
  • Willingness to travel on a regular basis (up to 50%)
