Job description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather, analyze, and document current state business processes and technology architecture using various methods such as interviews, process documentation, surveys, and workshops.
  • Collaborate with investment teams to design and document end-to-end business processes and technology solutions that enhance efficiency, automate manual steps, and lower operational risk, with a specific focus on portfolio management, trading, and investment operations areas.
  • Develop detailed requirements and interface specifications using techniques such as use cases, stories, data mappings, process flow charting, and report specifications.
  • Evaluate data requirements to support targeted business processes.
  • Develop test strategies, test plans, and success criteria.
  • Coordinate with technical teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure smooth system integrations and conduct user acceptance testing. Resolve any issues in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Develop training materials and coordinate/conduct end-user training sessions.
  • Document and work towards the resolution of vendor issues and incidents. Monitor and report vendor and supplier Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Requirements:

  • University degree in finance, economics, business, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a business analyst, with at least 2 years in the institutional investment management industry.
  • Possession of an MBA or CFA certification (or interest in pursuing these certifications) is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of the end-to-end investment lifecycle across asset classes, including data, processes, workflows, and investment platforms/systems used to support the investment business.
  • Work experience with a focus on trade order management systems is a significant advantage.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to gather, draft, and validate business requirements, workflows, and functional designs of solutions.
  • Knowledge of accounting and cash management is a plus.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to independently research, analyze, and resolve data quality issues.
