DEPARTMENT OF REHABILITATION SCIENCES
Scientific Officer / Assistant Scientific Officer (Ref. 240416007-IE)
Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) develop scientific and neuroscience-related technical platforms for meeting the needs of research development of the Unit;
(b) provide technical advice and consultation on research procedures and design to staff and students;
(c) assist in conducting experiments and managing laboratories;
(d) assist in preparing tutorials and demonstrations related to neuroscience and neurophysiology in the Unit;
(e) carry out general research duties and services; and
(f) perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit or his/her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants for the Scientific Officer post should have a master’s degree or above in Neuroscience, Neuropsychology, Neurophysiology, Brain Imaging or a related discipline with at least five years of relevant post-qualification experience.
Applicants for the Assistant Scientific Officer post should have a recognised degree in one of the above-mentioned disciplines with at least three years of relevant post-qualification experience.
For both posts, applicants should also have:
(a) expertise and commitment to excellence in an area pertinent to the development of research in rehabilitation sciences;
(b) good teamwork and interpersonal skills; and
(c) a good command of English and Chinese.
Preference will be given to those with relevant working experience in conducting human neuroscience research and using relevant neuroimaging methods like EEG, ERP, fMRI, fNIRS, TMS, tDCS, etc.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
