Job description

Yau Shing Land Investment Company Limited is a family owned real estate business , with a portfolio of both commercial and residential properties.

We are looking for a candidate to assist with our company’s re-vamping of existing properties and on-going redevelopment projects.

This position is on a 1-year contract based with no end-of-project gratuity. He / she shall direct report to the Directors or Assistant Directors on project issues / status and oversee a new built / redeveloped stand-alone project located in the Jordon District from the last Phase of construction to the completion of DLP and Final Account Finalization.

Key responsibilities:

  • To ensure all construction activities comply with tender, contract and statutory requirements;
  • To work with the Site Clerk of Works to monitor site progress and site safety;
  • Control approved budgets and anticipate potential financial issues with a view to achieving project completion within budget and make timely reporting to Directors of the company when needed;
  • Manage the construction development in progress and ensure quality of works on sites;
  • Manage and monitor consultants’ and contractors’ input and performance;
  • Manage and monitor technical, safety, environmental and contractual aspects of projects under construction;
  • Oversee project costs and contract administration of consultants and contractors;
  • Review Ais, EOT claims, Vos, and their relevant assessments prepared by consultants to ensure effective cost control and compliance with project specifications;
  • Review and advise on claim issues, and implement preventive measures for minimizing future contractual claims and disputes by consultants and contractors;
  • Co-ordinate with internal departments as well as external parties on project related issues;
  • Facilitate payments to contractors and consultants in timely manner and according to contract;
  • Work with Property management team and Property Manager on property takeover, handover list, and defect list;
  • Supervise and monitor Contractors’ defects rectifications till completion;
  • Work with project QS on preparation of Interim payments, retention sums and final account finalization;
  • the candidate may occasionally have to conduct extra feasibilities studies; work out improvement proposals and to advise upon possible renovation / A&A works;
  • Perform ad-hoc duties as required by the Directors / Assistant Directors.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Architecture, Building Studies, Building Surveying or related disciplines with recognized qualifications of Member of HKIA / HKIS / RICS or equivalent;
  • Minimum 6 years’ post graduate experience in project / contract management;
  • Knowledgeable in local regulations and procedures of building, planning and land submissions (Lands Department / DLO);
  • A track record of procuring and managing consultants, contract administration of projects, claim and EOT assessment as well as supervision of minor works contracts and term contracts;
  • Self-driven, independent, problem solving with good interpersonal skill;
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese;
  • Proactive and self-motivated;
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office is a plus but not a must.
