The incumbent will assist the Project Director to explore, plan and coordinate social service projects and activities together with the novel ideas developed by the service units of the Welfare Council as well as the tripartite collaboration between the Government, the community and the business sector. As one of the important members of the team, the incumbent should aim at pursuing innovative initiatives to respond the seemingly intractable social problems, address the life transformation of the disadvantaged groups and underserved communities. This role will support the senior management in funding applications, perform sound project management of new initiatives and lead efforts to build a capability and culture of innovation in the Welfare Council.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Project Director and work closely with service personnel to incubate new social service initiatives with good understanding of social needs;
  • Responsible for writing high quality service proposals, reports, evaluations, budget plans and presentations to pursue the success of funding applications from government, foundations and corporates;
  • Assist in the establishment of new projects by cooperating with different administrative departments in the Welfare Council, including site preparation, procurement of equipment and services, set up of service systems, publicity etc;
  • Support internal stakeholders of the Welfare Council to identify and acquire suitable information and resources, such as networking, resource matching etc.
  • Perform other duties related to service development as assigned by the Project Director.

Requirements:

  • Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree or above from a recognized university, majoring in Social Science, Business Administration or a closely related discipline is preferred;
  • At least 5 years’ relevant working experiences in managerial level with solid experience in new project development and management;
  • Have strong passion for solving social problems and finding novel solutions to help the disadvantaged groups;
  • Good at proposal writing and ability to present complex ideas and issues in concise and appealing manner;
  • Excellent project management and analytical comprehension skills, attentive to details to handle qualitative and quantitative information;
  • Excellent communications and writing skills in both English and Chinese;
  • A reliable, open minded and forward-thinking person with great sense of ownership and expertise in stakeholders’ engagement and/or operation of community projects preferable.

Two-year contract will be offered as a start. Candidates with satisfactory performance will be reappointed to permanent post after the first contract.
