Job description

The applicant must possess

  1. a recognised degree in construction related disciplines;
  2. a minimum of 10 years’ post-qualification relevant experience in local construction projects, with at least 3 years at management level; experienced in training and development of Teaching and Learning (T&L) programmes / packages / materials is preferred;
  3. a corporate membership of an appropriate professional institution is preferred;
  4. good knowledge of the latest construction technologies, such as MiC, MiMEP, BIM, Artificial Intelligence, Digital Twin, etc. is preferred;
  5. experience in training programme design, development and documentation work under the Hong Kong Qualifications Framework (HKQF) would be an advantage; and
  6. enthusiasm in both T&L and managerial tasks.

(Applicants who do not possess the required qualifications and / or experience may be considered for other positions within the organisation.)

Duties include

  1. to update or develop training programmes or programme articulation, and liaise with relevant industry stakeholders, including government departments, construction-related organisations and associations, and educational / vocational training institutes, for possible collaboration to ensure that training programmes meet the needs and demands of the industry;
  2. to oversee the overall effectiveness of manpower planning, resources deployment and scheduling for all training programmes and classes;
  3. to advocate the adoption of HKQF for the construction industry and to prepare all relevant and required documents for its possible application and implementation;
  4. to perform secretariat duties for related working groups and committees and any other relevant meetings of the School or HKIC; and
  5. to carry out any other duties as assigned from time to time by the Executive Director.
