It is responsible for Vehicle and Service sales business, partnership with Volvo’s own and private importers, key customers and body build partners, and progress of the Volvo Buses total business within the region.

Commercial Manager - Hong Kong

Based in Hong Kong and reporting to the Managing Director, Volvo Buses APAC North, the Commercial Manager - Hong Kong is responsible for direct and dealer sales for bus market in Hong Kong. The incumbent is also responsible for business development as well as ensuring customer satisfaction and the Volvo Bus brand image and reputation in the market.

Main Activities and Responsibilities

  • Active member of the APAC North Management and participate in meetings and Business Management Review.
  • Responsibility for Volvo Buses Commercial Sales (Franchised Buses Business and Dealership Sales) in Hong Kong.
  • Direct management of the Sales Logistics and Product & Quality functions.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies, business plan, forecast to secure sales targets along with various financial parameters.
  • Develop relations and direct contacts with management of distributors / dealers and key account customers in the market.
  • Develop, monitor and coach the appointed distributor / dealer for performance.
  • Prepare and response to tenders after obtaining necessary internal approval.
  • Delivery of bus sales tenders/contracts in a timely manner with quality and precision.
  • Define and execute the business case and roadmap for market introduction of existing and new products.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including service sales, service, finance and accounting departments to continuously optimize the process and efficiency of work.
  • Ad-hoc duties as per assigned.

Critical Competencies And Experience Required

  • 6 to 10 years’ experience in Business Development / Sales for International Company operating in a busines to business environment (preferably Commercial Vehicles or Capital goods).
  • Strategic planning competence, ability to plan and implement procedures to reach target goals and objectives
  • Experience in handling large tender contracts for business to business products
  • Leadership, teambuilding, ability to set goals and objectives
  • Skilled in Negotiation and Value Based selling
  • Excellent Business acumen, customer focus and relationship building
  • Understanding of bus customers and products is a merit
  • Excellent command in English and local language

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or related discipline
  • Good knowledge of system and software, i.e. technology and productivity tools including MS Office, Excel & PowerPoint. Power BI is a plus.
