Job description

The applicant must possess

  1. a recognized degree with disciplines in construction / engineering or education & training or equivalent;
  2. obtained professional qualification with Chartered Membership is preferred;
  3. a minimum of 10 years’ working experience at management level or in serving top management in sizeable organizations;
  4. hands-on experience in managing projects, overseeing operations, developing strategies and formulating policies;
  5. good networking capabilities and be able to establish working relationship with government, industry and other major stakeholders; and
  6. a strong sense of excellence and professionalism with a commitment towards best practices in updating and developing policies and guidelines for the continuous improvement of CIC.

Duties include

  1. to provide support to the senior management in ensuring the smooth operations of the Hong Kong Institute of Construction (HKIC) and its training functions;
  2. to assist in exploring opportunities for improving the effectiveness and efficiency of various functions of HKIC with a view to maximize opportunities, meet challenges and avert risks;
  3. to manage various enhancement and consultancy projects of HKIC, including drafting consultancy brief, monitoring the consultants and contracts and controlling progress, cost and quality;
  4. to co-ordinate the various initiatives and implementation measures for enhancement and report the progress regularly to the senior management;
  5. to assist in carrying out a wide spectrum of duties including information research and analysis, providing technical advice and support, compiling reports as well as drafting correspondence, discussion papers, study briefs, etc.;
  6. to provide support in CIC events and various ad hoc assignments as and when required; and
  7. to carry out any other duties as assigned by the Executive Director from time to time.
