We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the School of Arts and Social Sciences:

Assistant Manager (School of A&SS) (A&SS) (Ref: 24000QG)

Major Duties and Responsibilities

The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:

  • Providing administrative support in the delivery of academic programmes, including but not limited to programme promotion, class scheduling, quality assurance of programmes and courses;
  • Coordinating student enrichment programmes such as internships, scholarships and experiential learning projects;
  • Planning, coordinating and managing School events and scholarly activities, such as Congregation ceremony, research seminars and programme promotional activities, etc.;
  • Formulating policy papers, proposals and reports pertaining to the operation of the School and its departments/programmes;
  • Administering research projects, including coordination of grant proposal submission, progress and budget monitoring, etc.;
  • Providing secretarial support to committees;
  • Supervising the junior staff; and
  • Performing any other duties as assigned.

Candidates

Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:

  • A recognized degree with at least 5 years of relevant post-qualification experience;
  • Substantial administrative experience in tertiary education sector will be an advantage;
  • An excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with experience in professional writing in an academic setting;
  • Ability to work independently in a multi-tasked environment with initiative;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills;
  • An analytical mindset and good problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to work under pressure and within tight timelines; and
  • Strong computer literacy and numeracy skills.

Candidates may be invited to attend a written test.
