Job description

Maryknoll Convent School has been providing all-round, quality and affordable education for girls since 1925. We are now seeking a dedicated, dynamic and creative Native-speaking English Teacher to join our forward-thinking English panel.

Key responsibilities:

• Collaborate with English Panel members to co-plan and/or co-teach
• Undertake assigned teaching duties and implement good teaching practices
• Lead, organize and conduct co-curricular and extra-curricular activities related to English learning and teaching
• Contribute to school-based curriculum development and professional development activities
• Advise colleagues on the current use of English and how it is shaped by culture
• Attend relevant professional development activities organized and conducted by the NET Section and disseminate the information to the English Panel
• Perform relevant administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications and qualities required:

• A native speaker of English
• Meet the requirements under the EDB’s Enhanced NET Scheme in Secondary Schools (http://www.edb.gov.hk/net)
• Possess local teaching experience at secondary level
• Familiar with the English Language curriculum of secondary schools in Hong Kong
• Adept at and/or open to using e-Learning tools to facilitate teaching
• An active and contributing member of a school learning community
• A strong team player who can also work independently
• Patient, resourceful and organized
