We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the Facilities Management Office:

Assistant Facilities Manager (Architecture/Building Services/Surveying/Engineering) (FMO) (Ref: 24000QV)

Major Duties and Responsibilities

The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:

  • Assisting with various new building, planning, and AA&I projects, including conducting in-house feasibility studies, creating conceptual layouts and designs, and refining detailed design work.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders and in-house specialists for special requirements and incorporate into the works.
  • Monitoring project expenditures and progress by administering effective project and construction management techniques.
  • Supervising the project timeline, budget, and quality control, while ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Reviewing consultants' designs and contractors' submissions to ensure compliance with sound architectural principles and the required standards.
  • Ensure smooth handover of completed works to stakeholders, follow up with all defects and outstanding items and review O&M manuals submitted by the contractor.
  • Reviewing technical proposals and site works to ensure that the required quality and safety standards are maintained.
  • Liaising with government authorities, consultants, contractors, and internal parties regarding the project's progress.
  • Monitoring the progress of the works, maintaining comprehensive records, and preparing thorough progress reports; and
  • Performing any other duties assigned by supervisors.

Candidates

Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:

  • A recognized degree in Architecture, Building Services, Surveying, Construction Engineering or a related discipline in construction industry.
  • Preferably a corporate member of professional bodies such as HKIA, HKIE, HKIS, or equivalent, with at least 3 years' relevant post-qualification experience.
  • Ability to lead and manage teams/consultants/contractors and handle a complex, varied workload.
  • Good presentation skills, self-motivation, and a team player with strong communication skills.
  • Familiarity with building regulations and related statutory requirements.
  • Good experience with building design, fit-out design, and scheme drawings production.
  • Familiarity with sketches drawing & detailing, design drawing standards, and tender drawing requirements.
  • Proficiency in using AutoCAD, Sketchup, Revit, and computer graphic software is a plus.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills, as well as interpersonal skills with a service mindset.
  • Effective communication in both English and Chinese (preferably including Putonghua).
