Fancy a coffee? There are plenty of cool cafes to check into with a book (or a laptop if you're working) all over Hong Kong. Sheung Wan is a good place to check out if you love independent coffee shops and bars: wander around Jervois Street and Tai Ping Shan Street to see what you fancy. A collection of cute little thoroughfares in Wan Chai - Sun Street, Star Street and Moon Street - delivers plenty more options, with a wide variety of coffee blends and milk available. Over on the Kowloon side, you'll also find cafes that operate as espresso bars by day and cocktail joints by night.
Bars in Central are clustered around Lan Kwai Fong and SoHo (South of Hollywood Road). For a raucous night out, try the former: there are plenty of cool places to check in for cocktails mixed with Asian ingredients or sample locally brewed lagers. For something more sophisticated, head to the sleek cocktail bars around Central. Causeway Bay and Tsim Sha Tsui also have some great sky bars where you can take in glittering skyline vistas.
