Must Download Transportation App

There are a few things you can do right now to ease faster into Hong Kong life, and one of those is downloading some transport apps. They can help you get directions and check traffic information. Here is a short list of apps to get your travel game up in no time.

HKeMobility

The all-in-one HKeMobility app provides one-stop transport and traffic information. It allows you to conveniently search for routes using different transportation modes and provides information on journey times, estimated time of arrival for public transport, fares, real-time parking vacancy information and real-time traffic news to help you make the best travel arrangements.

MTR Mobile

Everything you need to know about taking MTR is baked into the MTR Mobile app. From travel time estimation to optimal route calculation plus a complete railway map of Hong Kong, the app can be relied on when traversing the vast majority of the city. The app’s ability to check for amenities and shops in individual stations is another great bonus.

Mobile Apps of Franchised Bus Companies

Four companies operate franchised bus services covering bus routes on Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, the New Territories and Lantau in Hong Kong.  They are Citybus Limited, the Kowloon Motor Bus Company (1933) Limited, Long Win Bus Company Limited and New Lantao Bus Company (1973) Limited. Mobile Apps of Taxi Fleets

Taxi Fleets are recognised by the Government, and issued with licence by the Transport Department to monitor its operation. The aim is to enhance the service quality and provide a better riding experience for the passengers. All taxi fleets provide online hailing services. Members of the public can choose appropriate vehicle types, including wheelchair-accessible taxis, premium taxis and electric taxis, through the online hailing platforms provided by the taxi fleets according to their personal needs.

There are five taxi fleets in Hong Kong. They commence services in phases since July 2025. For booking or more service information, please download their mobile apps.
