Duties
Reporting to the Director of the Campus Development Office (CDO), the appointee is one of the critical management team members who will lead a design management team to help accomplish the University’s vision and mission through (a) space planning, (b) smart and sustainable campus; (c) building design; (d) contracts administration; and (e) costs control. S/he will be responsible for the overall coordination and liaison between the CDO and other internal departments of the University to facilitate the execution and delivery of various projects and services. S/he will also actively participate in the organisational reform and management of the CDO and institutional cultural development. Main duties include to:
- Develop a campus of excellence, including but not limited to planning and delivering projects that can promote the University’s uniqueness and identity;
- Develop plans to drive design innovation and sustainability;
- Establish initial design and formulate an early-stage development plan;
- Ensure all new-built and renovated projects are completed on time, within schedule, and meet the required quality and standards;
- Collaborate with different stakeholders to facilitate the smooth execution of projects and works;
- Master overall budget planning and expenditure monitoring;
- Cultivate team spirit to enhance overall work performance and efficiency through effective personnel management; and
- Perform any other assignments.
Requirements
- A Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in Architecture/Surveying/Construction Management or related disciplines;
- Full membership with professional bodies related to the construction industry;
- At least 18 years relevant experience (of which at least 12 years at senior project management level of large organisations);
- Being confident and visionary, with good presentation and organisational skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills and analytical skills for problem-solving;
- Being self-motivated for performance enhancement, with proven management and leadership ability to complete tasks within tight schedules;
- Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); and
- Substantial experience in higher education institutions and/or experience in managing government subvention projects is preferable.
Salary and Conditions of Service
Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
