HSH owns and operates some of the world’s finest hotel proper ties under The Peninsula brand, with eleven operational Peninsula hotels in exceptional city centre locations in Asia, US and Europe, and a further property under development in London. The group’s portfolio also comprises strategic real estate assets and tourism assets, including The Repulse Bay as well as The Peak Tram – one of Hong Kong’s most popular tourist attractions.

The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels (owner and operator of The Peninsula Hotels, The Repulse Bay and many high-profile assets globally) is seeking a Director, Commercial & Operations Solutions based in our Corporate Office. This role will report to the Group General Manager, Technology, and be instrumental in executing the long-term strategic vision and roadmap of key platforms across HSH operations (e.g. hotel, commercial / residential / retail properties, laundry, golfing operations etc.).

Key Accountabilities

  • Accountable for delivering the maximum value of core operational platforms across our group including Property Management System (PMS), Point of Sales (POS), Spa & Golf management, website/booking engine, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), and data/analytics.
  • Lead and manage the successful implementation of IT platforms, devise and maintain project related documentation, including budget pack, legislative orders, specification, user guidelines, audit procedures, policies, testing/version guides, installation and training plans etc.
  • Identify data flow architecture solutions and resolve data migration between key systems.
  • Map the guest journey/activities and identify system integrated solutions that meets business objectives. Engage the team to research industry trends and conduct feasibility tests.
  • Offer professional expertise to stakeholders to drive beneficial outcomes throughout the Group.
  • Manage vendor performance to ensure our priority is well communicated.

General requirements

  • Degree holder or above of Engineering, Technology or Product Management or related disciplines
  • Minimum 12 – 15 years’ relevant experience, with experience in managing hospitality operational systems and platforms, such as PMS, POS, CRM, eCommerce platforms etc.
  • Knowledge in SQL, ETL, Cloud storage (Azure, AWS) and PowerBI (or other front-end reporting tools); experience in Machine Learning is a plus
  • Proficient in diagramming. An advanced user of Visio/PowerPoint
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Exceptional influential, presentation and communication skills
