About Enrich

Enrich is a fast growing, dynamic charity working to promote the economic empowerment of migrant domestic workers in Hong Kong. Established in 2007, Enrich provides financial literacy, business development and empowerment education programmes that allow migrant domestic workers to take greater control of their finances and secure the future for themselves and for their families.

This is a part-time role (3 days a week, including some Sundays) for a fixed period of 2 years, reporting directly to the Director of Programmes. The salary for this role is HKD $18,000 per month. We are ideally looking for someone able to start immediately and with the right to work in Hong Kong.

Impact of this role

Building off 16 years of experience delivering impactful programmes, and in response to changing needs of the community we serve in light of the pandemic, we are looking for a knowledgeable and motivated individual who can help our Programmes Team in redesigning and refining our financial and empowerment education curriculum, based on the learnings from a recent research study.

Key responsibilities:The primary responsibility of the Curriculum Development Specialist will be to revisit, review and enhance Enrich’s financial and empowerment education programme provided to migrant domestic workers in Hong Kong. The role is vital in upgrading Enrich’s core workshops, while keeping its learning materials engaging, culturally sensitive, practical and impactful, as it addresses the unique needs and challenges of our participants. This position requires a deep understanding of curriculum development principles, financial literacy and a passion for empowering individuals through education.

  • Improve the design of the existing curriculum and produce a more comprehensive content of financial education and empowerment programmes targeting migrant domestic workers based on a research study we conducted.
  • Introduce a modular approach to Enrich’s financial and empowerment education workshops, focused on the learning outcomes of the participants.
  • Reformat the sequence of Enrich’s five core workshops offerings, responding to the preference, interest and specific context of Enrich’s participants, who are mostly Filipinos and Indonesians.
  • Introduce shortened duration of classes whilst still achieving the workshop objectives and up to standard quality of content and materials.
  • Incorporate updated and evolving set of interactive learning materials, case studies, worksheets, presentations and other digital resources into each workshop - particularly on topics of debt management, avoiding scams, making investments and setting up a business.
  • Develop a participant/student workbook which contains different types of related information, worksheets and exercises linked to the workshops, to encourage participant motivation to apply learning.
  • Reframe the qualifications for annual graduation - taking into consideration the participants’ identified needs and journey within Enrich Financial and Empowerment Education Programme.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, Enrich programmes team, trainers, and migrant domestic worker participants to verify and gather additional input to ensure that the curriculum aligns with programme goals and objectives.
  • Coordinate with the programmes team and trainers to provide guidance and support in implementing the curriculum, taking part in the training of trainers sessions and observing the delivery of the updated workshops.
  • Stay abreast of current research, resources, and industry standards in financial and empowerment education, especially linked to financial challenges of migrant domestic workers, to ensure that the curriculum remains relevant and up to date.
  • Conduct evaluations and assessments to measure the effectiveness and impact of the curriculum, gather feedback from participants, and make data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Recommend improved systems for quality control and periodic curriculum review, incorporating current and relevant learning resources and verified studies and responding effectively to the interests as well as changing needs of the migrant domestic worker community.
  • Re-establish a responsive and sustainable learning pathway that integrates Enrich’s core workshops to our supplementary programmes such as mentoring, financial counselling and lunch and learns.

CRITICAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONSEducation and Experience- Bachelor's degree in education, instructional design, curriculum development, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.

  • Proven experience in curriculum development, preferably in the field of adult education, financial literacy, and empowerment programmes.
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum development principles, financial literacy and adult learning theories.
  • Familiarity with the unique challenges and needs of migrant domestic workers, particularly in the context of financial education and financial well-being and empowerment programmes.
  • Proficiency in curriculum development tools and software, as well as multimedia resources and technologies to enhance learning experiences.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and engaging manner.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively with subject matter experts, programme managers, trainers, and migrant domestic workers to create cohesive and impactful curriculum content.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in evaluating and assessing curriculum effectiveness, as well as utilizing feedback to inform iterative improvements.
  • Passion for social impact and a strong commitment to the mission and values of Enrich.

Enrich Centre, 1102 Enterprise Building, 228-238 Queen’s Road Central, Hong Kong

Salary and benefits: HKD 18,000 a month. We offer 10 days of annual leave, health insurance and contribution to the Mandatory Provident Fund. Other staff benefits include an Employee Assistance Program, offering up to 4 free sessions of counselling.
