Overview

This is a remarkable opportunity to join a rapidly expanding foreign bank in Hong Kong, renowned for its strong global corporate banking presence. They are currently hiring a Vice President - Trade Finance Operations to oversee the import team and manage daily trade operations. Additionally, they have expressed their commitment to developing this individual for future progression into the role of section head

Role Responsibilities

  • You will be accountable for verifying and approving various trade transactions, including but not limited to Letter of Credit (L/C) openings, bills collection, import/export financing, settlement, and accounts receivable financing.
  • Managing interactions with both internal and external customers regarding on export trade transactions.
  • Assess potential gaps and operational risks in daily activities, while also fulfilling the responsibility of making compliance judgments on trade documents.
  • Support Relationship Managers on customer visits as needed to provide detailed explanations of trade services products and solutions to customers.
  • Provide recommendations regarding necessary actions related to changes in laws, uniform customs and practices, and government regulations.
  • Supervise and guide subordinates to ensure accurate and effective completion of their assignments

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or related disciplines
  • You will need 10 years of experience in trade services operations, demonstrate a strong knowledge of Import and Export processes
  • Familiarity with ICC rules like UCP600, ISBP, URR725, and URC522.
  • Strong in decision-making skills, people management skills, organization skills and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and analyze situations, prioritize and implement processes effectively
  • Strong teamwork skills with effective communication abilities
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office; specifically, Word and Excel
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Cantonese
