Reports to: Head of Internal Communications and Engagement

Department: People (PPL)

Passionate about engaging employees and driving a positive culture, you will be working with the Head of Internal Communications and Engagement to create and implement communications and engagement strategies, programmes and activities to support the People team’s vision of making Cathay one of the world’s greatest employers. You will partner with different People team functions to come up with creative campaigns, and deliver engaging stories, messages and events to elevate the employee experience and pride in the company while strengthening the employer brand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the Head of Internal Communications and Engagement to develop communications and engagement strategies in support of the People team’s agenda and initiatives aimed at elevating the employee experience, and engaging employees with Cathay’s corporate values and culture
  • Develop creative campaigns, compelling content and events to instil positivity and engage employees with the Cathay experience to deepen the love and pride in the company
  • Instil positive influence through engaging storytelling and all-round communications to drive change in behaviours in alignment with Cathay’s way of working and build perceptions of Cathay as a great employer
  • Create messages, stories and narratives to articulate Cathay’s People initiatives and keep employees informed of People-related information through a blend of online and offline media and channels, including writing email announcements, intranet articles, social posts and talking points; developing presentations and videos; running engagement activities; and managing department cascades as needed
  • Support engagement activities within the People department including department town halls, celebrations and social activities
  • Partner with various People functions and the Internal Communications and Engagement team to deliver successful communications and events to the target audience
  • Build collaborative relationships with other Cathay departments to support execution where needed
  • Continuously review and improve on how to effectively engage employees with Cathay by measuring the effectiveness of communications and activities, and continually elevating the employee experience by trying new channels and approaches
  • Support the Internal Communications and Engagement team on key projects where needed
  • Lead and manage own team to deliver effective campaigns, communications and activities, while cultivating the business acumen, teamwork and functional expertise needed for individuals to grow and perform with excellence
  • Manage own team’s budget and support other team administration matters such as the annual budgeting and planning process
  • Identify and manage external vendor relationships as needed

Requirements

  • Degree in communications, marketing or related discipline
  • 8+ years’ relevant experience in a communications role, preferably in complex organisations with geographically dispersed employees
  • Solid experience in developing and executing communications and engagement strategies, campaigns and content
  • A confident and persuasive communicator with strong writing skills, who can make good use of different content, media and channels to deliver integrated campaigns
  • Passion in driving employee engagement and a strong understanding of what good employee experience and strong corporate culture look like
  • Self-motivated and a creative problem-solver
  • Ability to work independently and engage stakeholders appropriately
  • Strong attention to detail and an ability to stay agile, while managing multiple deadlines and competing demands in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and good judgment
  • Ability to lead and guide team to perform effectively
  • Good knowledge of industry trends, tools and techniques that engage audiences effectively
