The successful candidate will be deployed to Shanghai to manage the Retail Department at Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport, the joint venture between Airport Authority Hong Kong and Shanghai Airport Authority.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and develop licensing and tendering strategies to optimize the value of retail space and achieve the desired trade mix which caters to various customer segments
  • Solicit and identify reputable retailers/operators for the terminal in order to optimize revenue growth as well as enrich passengers’ shopping and dinning experience
  • Maximize the value of the airport assets, explore the opportunities for expansion and reconfiguration and the effective utilization of retail space
  • Develop, maintain and constantly update a set of performance standards to be adhered by licensees. Monitor licensees’ performance regularly and take appropriate rectification actions on irregularities
  • Lead promotion campaigns and explore new initiatives including co-operations with tenants and other stakeholders to enhance passengers' experience and to drive revenue
  • Manage commercial operators to comply with all regulations and new measures

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Property Management or related disciplines
  • Minimum of 12 years’ experience in a sizable organization in airport, transportation or retail landlord sector, of which 8 years at managerial position
  • Possess retail planning/ leasing management experience and the capability to understand the needs of the retailers and the retail market
  • Proven track record in building rapport with retailers, creating successful retail development and retail mix
  • Experience of working in China is an advantage
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and attention to detail
  • Sound knowledge and ability to understand and initiate planning proposals for expansion projects
  • Self-starter with forward and strategic thinking to develop and lead retail development plans
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua)
