We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our department as Head of Operation Analytics in HASE WPB.

Principal responsibilities:

• Leadership & strategy:
  • This role will lead development and implementation of analytics strategies and solutions to enhance WPB operational efficiency, risk management and improve customer outcome in areas of NFR domains (covering CSEM, CDD, CRMU, Sales Quarlity, etc) and underwriting / collection process.
  • Define road map aligned with business objectives
  • Lead high performing, onshore and offshore team of data & analytics professionals and develop effective working model,
  • Partner with senior leadership and collaborate with different partners to prioritize analytics initiatives.
• Operation Analytics Solutions for process optimization
  • Lead analysis of WPB customer, transaction, and process data to develop and deploy fit-for-purpose analytics solutions including (but not limited to) ad-hoc analysis, self-serve visualization, automated data solutions, machine learning and AI
  • Provide timely dashboard to track key operational processes, translate data to actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders
  • Design and deploy guideline, framework, and process to ensure the above solutions can be integrated into WPB operation processes with feedback loop, recommend and implement changes in processes / controls
• Technology & innovation: Evaluate and implement tools (AI/ML platforms, process automation) to continuously uplift modern data, visualization and AI capabilities in operations domain
• Cross-functional collaboration: collaborate & influence a wide range of partners / stakeholders from technology, risk and control owners, compliance as well as senior management.
• Risk & Compliance: Adhere to HSBC policy, procedures and control requirements. Ensure analytics solutions are compliant with regulations and internal policies.

Requirements

• University degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information System or other related discipline
• Minimum 15 years' banking experience in data analytics
• Excellent team management, strong organizational, problem-solving skills
• Effective verbal and written communication, experience in managing broad stakeholders and cross-functional project / teams, and strong influential & presentation skills
• Experience in agile working & project delivery, comfortable with working in fast-changing and complex environment
• Ability to take smart risk, define structure and clear approach / solution under ambiguous circumstance
• Self-motivated professional, strong analytics mindset, track record of analytics solutioning, innovation and transformation for impactful business results
• Proven track record of people management
• Experience in Python, SQL/BigQuery, Tableau/QlikSense/Looker studio a plus
• Hands-on experience on cloud environments such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, Azure a plus
