Cathay United Bank Company, Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Taiwan’s largest financial group, Cathay Financial Holdings, is seeking an Assistant Vice President for is Capital Solutions function at the Hong Kong Branch.

The candidate will work alongside and with resources supported by Capital Solutions Department from headquarters and other debt solution and financial products team. The Bank’s Capital Solutions function currently offers a full suite of structured finance and syndication services and is one of the few Taiwanese financial institutions that is capable of offering holistic solutions to various financing needs.

This is an opportunity for professionals who would like to grow his/her career with a bank with footprint across Asia Pacific and a complete debt product platform including syndication loans, structured finance, project finance, financial advisory, and derivative structuring.

• Support deal origination efforts for loans and fixed income business; develop and maintain marketing materials
• Assist in execution, including but not limited to business, legal and financial due diligence, credit analysis, drafting term sheets, reviewing financing documents, coordinating between internal and external parties
• Support internal approval and compliance processes; work with credit, legal affairs and compliance departments
• Track deliverables against execution timetable to ensure timely and successful transaction closings
• Maintain good working relationships with banks and other financial institutions in the region
• Assist relationship managers in maintaining close client relationships and addressing structuring and executional issues
• Enhance personal and team market knowledge across various sectors and countries; conduct market research and analysis as needed

Ideal candidates are expected to possess: - Bachelor's degree or above, preferably in Business, Finance or a related discipline

• At least 5 years of relevant experience, especially in financial modeling
• Candidates with extensive experience will be considered for the position of Vice President
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills
• Knowledge of accounting and financial analysis
• Knowledge of syndicated finance and loan syndication markets
• A team player with a desire to add value and a willingness to learn
• Self-motivated with a positive attitude, seeking challenging opportunities
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Advanced proficiency with MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word is preferred
• Fluency in written & spoken English and Chinese, Mandarin is an advantage
