DEPARTMENT OF REHABILITATION SCIENCES

Scientific Officer / Assistant Scientific Officer (Ref. 240416006-IE)

Duties

The appointee will be required to:

(a) develop scientific and technical platforms for meeting the needs of research development of the Unit;

(b) provide technical advice and consultation on rehabilitation technology to staff and students;

(c) assist in conducting experiments and managing laboratories in assistive and biomedical technology;

(d) assist in preparing lectures and tutorials related to rehabilitation technology in the Unit;

(e) carry out general research duties and services; and

(f) perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit or his/her delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants for the Scientific Officer post should have a master’s degree or above in Biomedical Sciences, Biomedical Engineering or a discipline in Rehabilitation Engineering with at least five years of relevant post-qualification experience.

Applicants for the Assistant Scientific Officer post should have a recognised degree in one of the above-mentioned disciplines with at least three years of relevant post-qualification experience.

For both posts, applicants should also have:

(a) expertise and commitment to excellence in an area pertinent to the development of research in rehabilitation technology;

(b) good teamwork and interpersonal skills; and

(c) a good command of English and Chinese.

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
