Our client is a think tank with a mission to facilitate economic growth and promote Hong Kong's economic competitiveness. Its research division is charged with the mission to provide economic insights for the government policy decisions and the business community.

Description

The Associate Director of Research will support the Director in setting the research agenda, facilitating cross-departmental partnerships, and achieving the organisation's objectives to enhance Hong Kong's economic competitiveness.

The Associate Director will oversee multiple research projects and provide appropriate guidance to a team of Researchers at various experience level (i.e. Assistant Researchers, Researchers and Senior Researchers).

As a strategic leader and advisor, the Associate Director will play a key role in setting research priorities, and advise on project management methodologies with a mindset of continuous improvement. As a committed leader, the Associate Director will manage stakeholder relationships which helps promoting the team's research products and smoothening information/data collection which is necessary to the team's output. In short, the Deputy Director is a leader and an advocate for this best-in-class Economic Research team.

Profile

The qualified candidate should possess Master's degree or equivalent in Economics and a minimum of 12 years of experience in economic research. Experience holding senior positions and leading research team is required. The candidate should demonstrate ability in conducting hands-on research works related to macroeconomics, trades, and industry studies. In-depth understanding in geopolitics and regional economies (including Hong Kong & China economies) is an important success factor. As a team leader, the organisation expects the Director to proactively gain voice research findings and make an impact to the community. This would involve excellent stakeholder management, media relations, and knowledge in digital channels.
