Job Purpose:
Leading a team of UNIX/Linux, middleware system and database administrators, ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of UNIX, Linux, middleware and database systems within the bank.
Additionally, the job incumbent will need to collaborate with other IT teams to support business operations, maintain detailed records of system performance, and provide technical guidance to optimize the use of UNIX, Linux and middleware resources.
Responsibilities:
Leadership & Oversight
Database Administration
Hands-on experience managing enterprise databases such as Oracle RAC, DB2, MSSQL,
Skilled in database provisioning, configuration, performance tuning, and ongoing maintenance.
Proficient in implementing backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
UNIX System Administration
Solid experience administering UNIX/Linux servers, including AIX, Solaris, and Red Hat.
Capable of overseeing server provisioning, configuration, and performance optimization.
System Monitoring & Capacity Planning
Governance & Reporting
Strong documentation skills for audit and compliance purposes.
Experience conducting System Acceptance Testing (SAT) and user account reviews on a semi-annual basis.
Capable of generating and delivering system performance reports.
Able to oversee routine operational tasks to ensure timely completion.
Disaster Recovery & Resilience
Experience setting up and maintaining system backup jobs to ensure data protection and recoverability.
Skilled in preparing and maintaining disaster recovery failover procedures.
Able to activate and support DR systems during annual drills.

Hands-on experience in AIX, Solaris, Redhat linux administration, and database administration, including Oracle RAC, DB2, MSSQL
Proven experience in managing UNIX backup and recovery strategies, including disaster recovery planning and execution.
Familiarity with End-of-Support (EOS) system upgrades and lifecycle management.
Strong understanding of audit and compliance requirements, including documentation, SAT, and user access reviews.
Proficient in generating system performance and capacity planning reports.
Experience coordinating infrastructure changes and working with vendors for database-related hardware and software. Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
