Engineer (Ref. 251110020-IE)
Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) facilitate student learning and development, and develop corresponding curriculum and pedagogy;
(b) lead and coordinate student learning modules and subjects, and promote teaching quality among colleagues;
(c) lead and organise research support and knowledge transfer activities;
(d) organise and implement strategic actions, regulations and procedures for the assigned team;
(e) lead and organise essential operations of the assigned team;
(f) assist in resources deployment and performance evaluation of the assigned team;
(g) work closely with stakeholders in the University, industrial partners and clients; and
(h) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of the Centre or his/her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) a recognised degree or a higher degree in Industrial Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline;
(b) at least five years of work experience, including professional experience in roles such as Industrial Designer, Digital Product Designer, UX Design Engineer, Front-End UX Developer, or a similar position;
(c) proven experience in designing and building interactive products, ideally involving AI, 3D, or data-driven components;
(d) demonstrated proficiency in design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD, Unity, Unreal Engine, SolidWorks, Rhino) and/or in development technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Python); and
(e) a good command of written and spoken English.
Preference will be given to those with teaching or curriculum development experience in higher education, or with research and development experience in areas such as digital twin, AI, or digital transformation.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
