Our Client is now seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Business Development & Marketing Manager to lead and execute growth initiatives for their Hong Kong office and across Asia. This is a strategic leadership role focused on driving market-relevant business development plans & elevating our brand profile in the region.

The Senior BD & Marketing Manager will be responsible for driving business development and marketing initiatives within the professional services industry. The role requires strategic thinking and excellent communication skills to successfully implement marketing strategies in Hong Kong & Asia.

Description

As a Senior BD & Marketing Manager, your main responsibilities will include:

Strategy, Planning & Financial Management

• Collaborate with BD service line leads, partners, and directors to adapt global service line plans for Hong Kong and Asia, ensuring alignment with regional priorities.
• Develop and manage budgets for all initiatives, taking full ownership of execution within agreed financial parameters.
• Schedule regular planning and review meetings with service line teams to monitor progress, ensure accountability, and track ROI.
• Identify new business opportunities, encourage cross-practice collaboration, and integrate efforts across legal teams and globally.
• Provide monthly tracking and reporting of spend against budget to maintain transparency and control.

Data-Driven Targeting & CRM Management

• Work with the client research and data analysis team to develop effective target lists for each service line, helping partners and directors identify gaps and opportunities.
• Produce high-quality distribution lists for client mailers and event invitations to ensure precision targeting.
• Drive adoption and effective use of the CRM system (InterAction) to track opportunities, measure ROI, and maintain accurate client data.
• Support BD trip planning by engaging with the client development team across the region to facilitate introductions and maximise relationship-building opportunities.

Pitches, Proposals & Presentations

• Proactively support partners and directors in creating compelling pitches, proposals, and presentations that differentiate our services and win new business.
• Ensure all materials are tailored, high-quality, and aligned with brand standards.

Events, Conferences & Sponsorships

• Plan and deliver local and international BD activities, including conferences, seminars, webinars, and client events.
• Work with the central events team for large-scale initiatives and coordinate with local practice support teams for smaller, targeted events.
• Apply best practices in event management and collaborate with colleagues in other jurisdictions to ensure consistency and maximise impact.
• Generate creative ideas for new event formats and venues, and identify relevant industry conferences to enhance visibility.

Legal Directory Submissions

• Prepare high-quality submissions for core legal directories using best practice guidelines.
• Monitor results and leverage rankings to strengthen our market positioning.

Marketing & Communications

• Partner with the central marketing team to deliver integrated campaigns across digital, PR, and thought leadership.
• Ensure a comprehensive suite of marketing collateral is available for the Hong Kong legal team, supporting client engagement and BD efforts.

Networking & Relationship Building

• Actively identify and build relationships with key industry associations, networks, and memberships to enhance our profile and support service line activity.
• Represent the firm confidently at networking events and industry forums.

Profile

A successful Senior BD & Marketing Manager should have:

• Relevant qualifications and proven experience ( 10+ years) in BD and marketing within professional services or legal sectors.
• Demonstrated success in developing and implementing effective BD and marketing campaigns.
• Strong knowledge of the Hong Kong and China markets, including digital channels such as WeChat and Baidu.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust across all levels.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse personalities and cultural backgrounds.
• Confidence in networking with senior professionals and intermediaries.
• Hands-on approach with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Language:Native English & Mandarin or Cantonese is desirable.
