Engineering Manager (Ref. 251117005-IE)
Duties
The Industrial Centre is a central support unit that provides support for teaching, research, entrepreneurship, and knowledge transfer to the University. The Centre is looking for innovative, technology-savvy individuals who love to work in multi-disciplinary teams.
The appointee will be required to:
(a) lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers specialising in advanced construction technologies, with a focus on 3D printing, robotics, smart safety, and carbon neutrality materials;
(b) coordinate and conduct teaching at the degree level, including teaching materials development, student project supervision, outcome assessment, and quality improvement;
(c) assist in the strategic development and management of a central facility for innovation and technology; and
(d) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of the Centre or his/her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
(a) have a bachelor’s degree or above in a construction-related discipline;
(b) have at least eight years of solid work experience in the construction field;
(c) have hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas:
(d) demonstrate a proven track record in supervising complex engineering projects. Preference will be given to those with R&D experience in new construction technologies; and
(e) have an excellent command of both written and spoken English.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
