Engineering Manager (Ref. 251110018-IE)
Duties
The Industrial Centre is a central support unit that provides support for teaching, research, entrepreneurship, and knowledge transfer to the University. The Centre is looking for innovative, technology-savvy individuals who love to work in multi-disciplinary teams.
The appointee will be required to:
(a) lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers specialising in information and communication technologies, with a focus on robotics, intelligent automation, computer programming, and mechatronics;
(b) coordinate with academic and technical staff to support teaching activities, including curriculum development, student supervision, and continuous improvement initiatives;
(c) oversee project planning, execution, and delivery to ensure high-quality outcomes;
(d) contribute to the strategic development and management of our innovation and technology facilities; and
(e) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of the Centre or his/her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
(a) have a master’s degree or a higher degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field;
(b) have at least eight years of experience in engineering roles, with strong technical expertise in areas such as software development, automation, robotics, or related technologies;
(c) have hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas: robotics system design and integration, software development, hardware prototyping, network and communication systems, or mechatronics;
(d) demonstrate success in leading engineering teams and delivering complex projects;
(e) exhibit outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members; and
(f) have proficiency in both written and spoken English.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
