Description:
We are looking for an IT Infrastructure Specialist/Team Manager with 8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure management, specifically with Windows and Linux operating systems. This is a client-facing management role that involves attending regular meetings with clients and overseeing a team of 4-5 members. The candidate must work hands-on with the team and take on the following key responsibilities:
1. System Administration and Troubleshooting
- Maintain and optimize server and storage platforms, including HDS VSP, NetApp FAS, and IBM SVC.
- Ensure high availability and performance of SAN storage and VMware environments, adhering to strict SLA requirements.
- Perform system installations, configurations, patches, and upgrades.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues in accordance with agreed SLAs.
- Collaborate with other teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex problems.
2. Backup and Recovery
- Maintain backup solutions to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Develop and execute disaster recovery plans and conduct annual disaster recovery drills.
3. Documentation and Reporting
- Prepare reports for capacity planning, incidents, SLAs, and improvements.
4. Technical Support and Evaluation
- Provide technical support to users and collaborate with other teams to resolve issues.
- Offer professional recommendations on solutions to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvements.
The candidate must also have experience providing managed services to government departments and be familiar with the workflows and culture specific to these organizations.
